They did have an accident during their work, involved spilling gas on the roof and damaging our kitchen ceiling/grout. However they were quick to offer remedying the situation. Totally understand these things happen and really happy with their response.

Company A's work lead to constant leaks during any weather event inside our home, using bricks/firewood/tear off material to hold old tarps down, not properly layering tarps so that rain would slide under the next and into our home, covering our furnace exhaust (CO backing into house), no materials purchased and on hand during tear off, and overall incompetence throughout the project. The list goes on and on.
Cannot recommend this company enough. Alan, the owner, visited us originally to provide us an estimate. Very friendly, helpful, and a wealth of knowledge. They installed an IB Roof system on our home in Milwaukie. Our roof has too low of a slope to handle any other material.
Everyone that I worked with at Western Pacific Roofing were really nice people. They were upfront with me about my options and ended up saving me some money. As soon as I signed the contract, I got a call from the project manager and they were ready to get started... and they had a new roof on my garage in less than one day. I could barely tell they were at my house! I was referred to them by a family member who has used them several times and has always had a good experience. It's kind of hard to know what you're going to get with a contractor but I found them to be professional, knowledge and responsive.
After WPR's bid, we decided to go with a different company (big mistake in hindsight), lets call them Company A. Company A had better Angie List reviews, which I'm now questioning their authenticity.
After calling Alan on a Tuesday, explaining the dilemma we were facing with Company A and the stress it had caused, he was incredibly helpful and provided us advice on what to do in our situation (i.e., making sure they were licensed and insured, mentioned issues we may experience with Company A's material choice etc.). After talking with him for a while, I asked if he'd be open to taking over the project. Alan quickly confirmed materials were available, sent a crew same day to properly secure our roof, and was there with a crew the following Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and completed the project. Not a single leak.
We had a horrible experience with them. First they lost the contract so delayed several weeks. Numerous times they made appointments and didn't show up. They ordered the wrong skylight twice before finally getting the new one, six weeks later. We cleaned up a five gallon bucket of nails and other trash from them. They broke the electric pole from the roof and instead of telling me so I didn't spend time flipping breakers and calling the power company, they just hooked up their nail gun to a generator and kept working. I had to call their office to find out that they had already called the power company and had it turned off ( 10.5 hours before it was fixed). All said, they added $4,000.00 on to the original bill and I don't think it was accurate. They charged 240.00 for 6 2x4's. The job started in August and it is January and we are finally wrapping it up. What a mess. I hope all goes well because I can't imagine having a problem and having them out again!
Trying to find contractors is a total hit or miss. A project as big as a roof, it is quite risky without a reputable recommendation from someone you know. I'm going to definitely be recommending this company to friends and family.
